About Bluegrass Herbs

I’m glad you found Bluegrass Herbs.

This work is rooted in a simple belief: that caring for people and caring for the natural world should never be separate things. Bluegrass Herbs is my way of continuing a lifelong commitment to environmental education, community care, and creating deeper connections between people and the plants that sustain everyday life.

Bluegrass Herbs is the result of a lifetime of working at the intersection of education, plants, and the belief that everyday life can be a form of care for the world around us.

The Full Story

I’m Noelle. I am originally from Kentucky, and for nearly a decade I dedicated my career to public service with the United States government in environmental education and community-based programming.

That work took me across the country, where I had the privilege of building and leading programs designed to help people (especially children) form real, lasting relationships with the natural world. I worked as a garden educator, led environmental education initiatives, and developed curriculum that is still in use today to help connect young learners to nature in hands-on, meaningful ways.

I also led environmental education teacher workshops, supporting educators in bringing these experiences into their own classrooms, and served as an education program manager for a program that reached nearly tens of thousands of children each year. That number still feels hard to fully comprehend; but what matters most to me is not the scale, it’s the idea that connection to nature can change how people see the world.

Alongside my professional work, I’ve always stayed deeply involved in community projects and volunteer efforts in every place I’ve lived. I’ve believed, consistently, that change doesn’t happen from a distance it happens when people show up, share what they know, and take care of the places and communities they’re part of.

Bluegrass Herbs grew out of all of this.

It is the natural next step in a lifetime of work focused on connection – connection to the land, to plants, to each other, and to the rhythms of everyday life that are so often overlooked.

My vision for Bluegrass Herbs is to eventually grow into something larger than products alone. I want it to become a space where environmental education, hands-on workshops, and the simple act of working with plants all come together. A place where people can learn, create, and get their hands in the soil again.

At its core, nothing has changed. This is still the same work it has always been for me: helping people feel more connected to the natural world, and in doing so, helping care for the world itself.
